Shirominiji, nestled on Shiromi Mountain in Aomi-cho, Sakaide City, is an ancient temple of great spiritual power serving as the eighty-first station of the Shikoku Eighty-Eight Temple Pilgrimage. It is also known as a temple dedicated to the memory of Emperor Sutoku, who was exiled to Sanuki during the Hogen Rebellion. Located at an elevation of 280 meters, it offers spectacular views overlooking the islands of the Seto Inland Sea.
