Komatsujii is an ancient Shingon Buddhist temple nestled in the verdant mountains of Minamisoma. It is said to have been founded by Gyoki Bodhisattva during the Nara period and enshrines Senju Kannon Bodhisattva as its principal deity. Particularly known as the "Maple Leaf Temple," its grounds are adorned with beautiful autumn foliage that draws many pilgrims.
