The Shirahige Jinja of Takahama is a shrine dedicated to Shirahige no Okami, known as the kami of longevity. Enshrining Sarutahiko no Okami, it is a venerable shrine that has gathered the faith of local people as the kami of guidance and longevity since ancient times. The Shirahige deity is also known as a kami of opening the way, illuminating and guiding people through life's confusion and difficult paths. Furthermore, true to its name, it possesses the divine virtue of longevity and extended life, offering protection for health and a long life. Within the beautiful grounds facing Wakasa Bay, one can feel the warm divine protection of the kami along with the blessings of the sea.
