History
Oitoshi Jinja, as its name suggests, is an ancient shrine that enshrines Oitoshi no Kami, who presides over the year's abundance and peace. Rooted in Wakayama, it has been cherished by local people throughout the ages. Oitoshi no Kami is known as the god of rice cultivation, and many visitors come especially during the New Year period. As the guardian deity of the community, the shrine continues to watch over the lives of residents and serves as spiritual support for the people through seasonal festivals and events.
