History
Sanya Hachimangu is a shrine located in Koyama, Shinagawa, Tokyo. Registered under the name Hachimangu, it is dedicated to Homudawake no Mikoto (Ojin-tenno), the god of martial prowess and victory. Established during the Enpo to Genroku era (1673–1704), the shrine has long been venerated by warriors and martial artists for blessings of triumph and success. Today, athletes, competitors, and those facing challenges in life come to seek the powerful divine favor of Hachiman, the warrior deity.
