History
Ryujin Shrine, enshrined at Hashiohama in Imabari, is the spiritual anchor of the sea people. The dragon kami presides over all oceans, and fishermen have long prayed for abundant catches here, while sailors have sought safe passage. Named for the sheltered harbor, this shrine has gathered the steadfast faith of seafaring people. Washed by the salt winds of the Seto Inland Sea, the dragon kami's power abides here still. An old fox senses this shrine has become one with the sea itself.
