inasa jinja

Inasa Shrine, located in Shiroishi, Kishima District, Saga Prefecture, is identified with the kokushi-kenzai-sha "Inasa-o no Kami." The principal deity is Inasa-o no Kami. Inasa-zan Taihei-ji temple was once established here, leaving many traces of the syncretic Buddhist-Shinto tradition. Designated a prefectural shrine under the modern ranking system, the shrine has been a center of ancient worship in Hizen and has long gathered the devotion of farmers closely tied to rice cultivation.
