History

Byakko

Yutoku Inari Jinja is counted among Japan's three great Inari shrines. It was founded in 1687 (Jokyo 4) by the wife of the Kashima domain lord. The magnificent approach lined with vermillion-painted buildings leading to the main shrine is truly awe-inspiring. Enshrining Inari no Okami, it has long been the object of devout faith as a deity of business prosperity and abundant harvests. Throughout the year, countless visitors come to worship, with New Year celebrations becoming one of Saga's signature seasonal events.
