History
Hōtō Jinja is a shrine nationally famous for lottery winning prayers, located on Takashima Island floating in Karatsu Bay. It enshrines the warrior Nozaki Oki no Kami Tsunayoshi, and has come to be cherished as "winning fortune" from its name. Though a small shrine on an island reached by ferry from Karatsu Port, visitors seeking good luck and lottery blessings come from across the nation, with amulets and ema tablets being highly popular. The mystical atmosphere surrounded by sea surely elevates one's fortune.
