History
Shomanin is an ancient temple in Yuhigaoka, Tennoji Ward. Known as a place associated with Prince Shōtoku, this temple bearing the name of Shōmanī has gathered the faith of many people since ancient times. True to its beautiful name of Yuhigaoka ('Evening Sun Hill'), it is positioned on a high place where the setting sun in the west shines beautifully, maintaining a serene space removed from the hustle and bustle of the capital. Throughout its long history, though it has undergone many changes, it has continued to be beloved by local residents and endures today as a revered spiritual site.
