History
Shinmei Jinja, enshrined in Shinmei-cho, is a venerable shrine that reveres Amaterasu Ōmikami as its principal deity. It is said that the divided spirit of Ise Jingū was invited here, and has long been cherished by local people as "O-Ise-san." Through the divine virtue of Amaterasu Ōmikami, the sun goddess, the shrine illuminates the path toward a bright future. The beautiful shrine building constructed in Shinmei style purifies the hearts of visitors and grants them the strength to move forward with renewed spirit.
