History
This Hachiman shrine enshrined in Yamato Koriyama has long been revered as a deity of war, with Emperor Ojin as its principal enshrined kami. It has been a spiritual support for local people alongside the development of Koriyama castle town. During the Edo period, it was devoutly venerated by the samurai of Koriyama Domain, and worshippers would always visit at decisive moments and life transitions. Even today, it is cherished as the local tutelary kami, with a steady stream of families praying for the growth of their sons.
