Kenchūji is a prestigious temple with deep connections to the Tokugawa clan. Founded by Tokugawa Yoshinao, daimyo of Owari, it has served as the family temple of the Owari Tokugawa clan. Standing majestically in the Tsutsui area, its impressive temple structures continue to awe visitors. Within the temple grounds lies the mausoleum of the Tokugawa family, where one can sense the weight of history. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom beautifully, making it a popular destination for many visitors. This is truly a sacred place worthy of being called a treasure of Nagoya, where the splendor of the samurai class and Buddhist teachings are harmoniously united.
