History

Byakko

Koiwa Jinja is enshrined in the Koiwa area of Edogawa Ward, a shrine beloved by the local community. This area has been home to an ancient settlement continuing from the Edo period, and the residents have carefully protected this sacred place, praying daily for the safety and prosperity of their lives. There are various theories about the origin of the place name Koiwa, but one says it comes from the abundance of small rocks transported by the Tamagawa River. Supported by the deep faith of local people, it continues to watch over the peace and development of the community, serving as a warm spiritual refuge.
