History

Byakko

Komigoe Myougi Jinja is a somewhat unusual shrine located in Komigoe, Toshima Ward. While Myougi Jinja is famous for Mount Myougi in Gunma Prefecture, this shrine has protected the Komigoe area since the Edo period. Though a small shrine nestled quietly in a residential neighborhood, it is supported by the deep faith of local people. It is a hidden gem where one can forget the noise of the city and offer prayers with a calm heart in its serene sacred grounds.
