Kongoji Temple

Known as Yasaka Koshin-do, this temple was established during the Enryaku era and upholds the ancient belief of Koshin faith. According to tradition, offerings made on Koshin days protect devotees from the three worms in the body reporting misdeeds to the heavenly emperor, thereby preventing calamities. The practice of binding wishes in colorful cloth balls demonstrates how folk beliefs continue to thrive here, making it a revered place for removing afflictions and purifying both body and spirit.
