History
Zōjō-ji is the head temple of the Pure Land sect with a history of over 600 years. It prospered as the ancestral temple of the Tokugawa family, and many shoguns rest here. Located right near Tokyo Tower, it creates a landscape where the modern and historical blend beautifully. The spacious temple grounds contain many cultural treasures, and a sacred space spreads that calms the hearts of visitors. Though in the heart of the city, it is a special place where one can experience profound peace.

安国殿に祀られる「黒本尊（阿弥陀如来）」は秘仏のため、直接拝観できるのは年に3回（1月15日・5月15日・9月15日）のみです。
千躰子育地蔵尊（境内北側）には現在約1,300体の地蔵が並び、それぞれに手作りの赤いニット帽とよだれかけが着せられています。無事成長・水子供養の祈願地で、境内でも特に印象的な場所です。
徳川霊廟墓所内の「鋳抜門（いぬきもん）」は1713年造の青銅製の門で、扉に昇り龍・降り龍と葵の御紋が鋳造されています。戦災を免れた遺構で、かつては旧国宝に指定されていました。

境内は外国の方が多かったです。 東京タワーとのコラボ、凄くキレイです。
