History

Byakko

A branch shrine of the Inari deity established in the Oiwa district of Toyohashi. The divine power granted from the great Fushimi Inari in Kyoto has long answered the prayers of merchants and farmers in this land. From autumn prayers for abundant golden harvests to winter petitions for protection from fire, devotees come seasonally to receive blessings. The white foxes, divine messengers, are said to gather here, their ghostly processions passing through the shrine grounds night after night.
