Katsushikahikawa Shrine (Horikirihikawa Shrine)

Katsushika Hikawa Shrine, also known as Horikiri Hikawa Shrine, is located in Horikiri, Katsushika Ward, Tokyo. According to tradition, it was founded in the late Kamakura or early Muromachi period (around the 14th century) by enshrining a divided spirit from Omiya Hikawa Shrine, the ichinomiya of Musashi Province. The principal deities are Susanoo-no-Mikoto, the god of valor; Inadahime-no-Mikoto, the goddess of good matchmaking; and Ōnamuchi-no-Mikoto, the god of land development. As the village shrine of Horikiri, it has long watched over the peace and prosperity of the local community.
