Banpuku-ji

Manpuku-ji is a Soto Zen temple located in Ota Ward, Tokyo, with the mountain name Jigenzan. It is said to have been founded by Kajiwara Kagetoki, a trusted retainer of Minamoto no Yoritomo. The principal object of veneration is the Amida Triad. Standing in the Magome area, the temple has served as a spiritual center for local residents across the centuries, its history intertwined with the origins of the Kamakura shogunate.
