Ryugasaki Yasaka Jinja is enshrined in the land of Ryugasaki. As the name Yasaka indicates, this is a historic shrine where the divided spirit of Kyoto's Yasaka Jinja was invited. Enshrining Susanoo no Mikoto, it has long been deeply revered by local people as a deity of epidemic prevention and misfortune removal. Particularly during the summer festival season, it draws many worshippers and serves as an important gathering place deepening community bonds. As the guardian deity watching over Ryugasaki's streets, it continues to bestow its blessings unchanged.
