Gokurakuji is a temple nestled in the hinoki grove of Oasa-chō in Naruto City, and as its name suggests, it is a temple built with the wish for rebirth in the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Positioned on high ground in the place called 'Dan-no-Kami,' it is enshrined as a sacred site wrapped in pure air and continues to be loved by the local people. The temple is deeply connected to the history of pilgrimage around the Four Sacred Mountains of Shikoku, and many pilgrims and visitors come seeking spiritual peace. From the temple grounds, one can view the beautiful nature of Naruto, and truly experience the tranquility as if visiting paradise itself.
