Ooasa-hikokojinja is enshrined in Oasa Town, Naruto City, and is one of the most ancient and venerable shrines in Tokushima Prefecture! Revered as the principal shrine of Awa Province, it enshrines Ooasa Hiko no Okami and Saruta Hiko no Okami. This is a shrine of great historical significance that has watched over the land of Awa since ancient times, and is particularly known as a deity of directional protection and traffic safety. Situated in a beautiful location overlooking the Naruto Whirlpools, it receives countless visitors from within and outside the prefecture during New Year celebrations—truly the guardian deity of Awa Province.
