Futa Tenjinja is an ancient Tenjin shrine situated in Chofu. It has deep connections to the textile called "chofu" which gave its name to the Chofu area, and has walked alongside the culture of this region through the ages. Tenjin is famous as the kami of learning, and Futa Tenjinja has long watched over the academic success of local people. The grounds feature magnificent plum trees that bloom beautifully in spring, bringing joy to the hearts of worshippers. Rooted in the community as a warm and welcoming shrine, it continues to be beloved by many people today.
