History

Byakko

Hitokotonushi Jinja is famous for fulfilling "a single wish" as its name suggests. It enshrines the Great Deity Hitokotonushi and has long been revered with the faith that "if you make just one wish, the deity will surely grant it." It is customary to focus your prayers on a single wish, and it is said that the deity's power concentrates accordingly. While simple in its approach, this shrine is remarkably efficacious, and many worshippers visit from afar, making it a hidden gem of Ibaraki.
