History

Byakko

Along the banks of the Toyokawa River, where I have long kept watch, Meiköji stands in serene repose. Its name symbolizes the light of Buddha illuminating the path of humanity—a temple I regard with profound reverence. Since ancient times, it has been a guiding light dispelling the confusion of seekers, leading them toward righteous paths. Like the pure flow of the Toyokawa itself, the blessings of this temple flow clean and clear into the hearts of devotees, illuminating the way to enlightenment. Through the prayers and faith of generations of high priests, this sacred place continues to shine brightly even now.
