Manpuku-ji is a Soto Zen Buddhist temple located in Nowatari, Nogi-machi, Shimotsuga-gun, Tochigi Prefecture. Its formal name includes the mountain name Saiko-zan and the hall name Kenkyoin. The temple is known for its connection to the Koga Kubo, the Ashikaga branch that controlled the Kanto region from Koga in Shimotsuke Province during the Muromachi period. Rooted in the Nogi area for centuries, the temple has long served as a spiritual center for the local community, continuing the traditions of Soto Zen practice.
