History
Daiankraji Temple, with the mountain name Shin-Koyasan and principal image of Juichimen Kanzeon Bosatsu (Eleven-faced Kannon), stands in Nihonbashi Kodenmacho, Tokyo. During the Edo period it served as a memorial temple for those who died in the adjacent Kodenmacho prison. The Denmatsuka monument within the precinct preserves this history. As the fifth stop of the Edo Thirty-three Kannon pilgrimage, it has welcomed countless worshippers through the centuries.
