Rokujizo-ji is a temple of the Shingon Buzan sect located in Rokutanda-cho, Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Known by its mountain name Guteimitsuzan and its cloister name Shoho-in, it serves as a head temple with twenty-five branch temples. Long revered as a sacred site for safe childbirth and child-rearing, generations of worshippers have visited seeking the blessing of children, safe delivery, and the healthy growth of their young. The six Jizo Bodhisattvas who give the temple its name are said to extend their warm protection to mothers and children alike.
