History
Dairinji, formally known as Jiununzan Dairinji, is a temple of the Soto Zen sect located in Nagatsuta, Midori Ward, Yokohama. It served as the family temple of the Okano clan, hatamoto retainers of the Edo Shogunate who governed the Nagatsuta area. Its founding patron is said to be Itabeoka Kosetsu, father of the first generation head Fusatsune. Within its grounds stands a city-registered historical site, the graveyard of successive generations of the Okano family, and it has long been celebrated as the setting for Dairin Bansho, one of the ten scenic views of Nagatsuta.
