History

Known also as Seikoji, Jigenin is Sano's sacred sanctuary dedicated to the Compassionate-Eyed Avalokiteshvara. In Teranaka-cho, those suffering from eye ailments have offered their prayers. The Bodhisattva's compassionate gaze dispels mental darkness and illuminates new vision.
