Kachiuma Jinja
About
History
Allow me to share the tale of Kachiuma Jinja, a unique shrine dedicated to the divine protection of horses. Originally known as 'Bareki-sha' (Horse Stable Shrine), this sacred place has long been revered for its power to safeguard horses and their riders. Until the early Showa period, grand horse racing events were held annually on April 8th within the grounds of Osugi Jinja, where many magnificent steeds would thunder across the sacred grounds. This historical connection to horse racing deeply embedded the shrine's reputation as a guardian of horses. Today, known as Kachiuma Jinja (Victory Horse Shrine), it has become renowned for bringing good fortune in horse racing and competitive endeavors. Its proximity to JRA's Miho Training Center has made it a pilgrimage destination for jockeys, trainers, and racing enthusiasts from across Japan. The shrine's divine virtues extend beyond the racing world, offering blessings for victory in various competitions and life challenges. As a sanctuary where the ancient bond between humans and horses is honored, Kachiuma Jinja continues to inspire faith and hope in those seeking triumph through divine protection.
