Hoshunin is a sub-temple (tatchu) of Daitokuji in Murasakino, Kita Ward, Kyoto City. Belonging to the Rinzai sect Daitokuji branch, it is the northernmost of Daitokuji's sub-temples. The temple is not normally open to the public, lending it an air of quiet sanctity.
