Jooun-ji Temple, located in Haramachida, Machida, Tokyo, belongs to the Nichiren sect and carries the mountain name Hoyo-zan. It is venerated as the enshrined deity Bishamonten of the Haramachida Shichifukujin pilgrimage. Within the precincts lie the graves of physician Osuga Akira and kenjutsu master Nagaoka Oribe, as well as the Muto-zuka mound (Yato-zuka), testifying to the history of the Edo period. Its former head temple was Minobu Kuon-ji, belonging to the Tsuji Horinochi lineage.
