Hirose Zawa-kahai Jimyo Jinja is a Shikinaisha enshrined in Kawai-cho, a shrine long venerated as a water deity. This ancient shrine of deep significance is recorded in the Engi Shiki Jinmei-cho and has been revered by the imperial court as a deity governing the blessings of the Yamato River and flood control. Belief in gratitude for water's blessings and prayers for agricultural development remain strong, deeply interwoven with the lives of local people. The serene sacred grounds purify the hearts of worshippers. This is a precious shrine conveying the tradition of water deity worship continuing from ancient times to the present.
