Inuyama Shrine is located near the southern entrance to Inuyama Castle in Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture. The shrine enshrines the successive lords of Inuyama Castle from Naruse Masanari onward, and also honors the souls of those who fell in battle from the Boshin War through World War II. Together with the neighboring Haritsunazan Shrine and Sanko Inari Shrine, it has long supported the spiritual life of the castle town. As a site that inherits the virtue of the castle lords, the shrine continues to receive visitors who come to pay their respects to their ancestors and pray for the protection of the community.
