Asukaza Jinja is an ancient shrine of distinguished lineage enshrined in the heart of ancient Asuka. As the name Asuka indicates, this region is known as the sacred birthplace of ancient Japanese culture and has witnessed many historic events. The use of the character "za" (seated) in the shrine's name expresses that the deity is firmly enshrined in this place, and it has long attracted deep reverence as the protective deity of the region.
