History

Byakko

Gojū Inari Jinja in Adachi Ward is a shrine that has long been cherished by people in a region of deep Inari faith, where prayers for abundant harvests and business prosperity have been offered. In the Edo period, when agriculture was flourishing in this region, the shrine gathered the faith of local residents as a guardian deity of fields and paddies. Known as a shrine visited by many worshippers who pray for the success of business and enterprises through the blessings of Inari Ōkami, the numeral "fifty" in its name carries the meaning of "itsutsu" (abundance and contentment), and the shrine is cherished in the community as a place where wishes are fulfilled. Even today, as a guardian deity of the neighborhood, it is a warm shrine that walks alongside the daily lives of its people.
