History

Enshrined on the banks of the Tatsuta River, Tatsuta Jinja has guarded the passage of travelers since ancient times. Said to embody the spirit of a protective dragon, its kami calms river floods and safeguards travelers' journeys. Celebrated in classical poetry, the crimson autumn leaves adorning the Tatsuta River create a beauty transcendent of time, where one feels the very breath of the dragon deity.
