Oku Hachiman Jinja is enshrined in Nishi-Oku in Arakawa Ward, a Hachiman shrine. Hachiman, the kami of martial valor, has long been cherished and has served as the tutelary deity of this region for many generations. The place name Oku is said to derive from the word "oku" (inner), and it is also said to have once meant the remote interior of Musashi Province. This shrine has walked alongside the development of the community and continues to be carefully maintained by the local parishioners. At the autumn grand festival, the entire community celebrates together with the lively atmosphere of traditional festivities.
