Yodohime Jinja

Yodohime Jinja is an ancient shrine enshrining Yodohime no Mikoto, the sister of Empress Jingu. Affectionately known as "Yodohime-san," it is deeply beloved by the people of Saga. Located on the banks of the Kase River, it has long been venerated as a deity of water and safe childbirth. Particularly renowned for its blessings regarding childbirth and conception, it draws many women from within and beyond the prefecture. The grounds, surrounded by the beautiful natural scenery of Kawakami Gorge, offer a healing space where visitors can enjoy the changing beauty of the seasons.
