History

Byakko

Kumano Sansha Shrine stands as a sacred site in Nagoya's south, honoring three Kumano deities. This fox spirit has repeatedly sensed the deep longing of pilgrims drawn here by the Kumano faith. The profound roots of Kumano devotion are evident here, welcoming countless pilgrims since ancient times. Even the place name 'Yobitsuki' (call-continuing) symbolizes Kumano's power to draw seekers. Here, worshippers receive the three deities' protection and gain strength to overcome life's steepest paths. Despite standing within Nagoya, Kumano's sacred light remains eternally unchanged and radiant.
