Suruga Kuni Sosha Shizuoka Sengen Jinja is a prestigious shrine serving as the Sosha (general shrine) of Suruga Province. It comprises three shrines: Kanbe Jinja, Sengen Jinja, and Otoshi Miso Jinja, and is affectionately known as 'Osengensama' by Shizuoka residents. It was revered by Tokugawa Ieyasu, and his coming-of-age ceremony was held here, making it a shrine of considerable historical significance. Its beautifully vermillion-lacquered romon gate and main hall are magnificent, and in spring the cherry blossoms within the grounds bloom splendidly, captivating many visitors. As a representative shrine of Suruga with proven spiritual efficacy, it continues to be cherished by countless people today.
