Shimoda Hachiman Jinja

This Hachiman shrine stands in central Shimoda, Shizuoka, known as Shimoda Hachiman Shrine — the most central and emblematic of the six Hachiman shrines in the city. Walking alongside Shimoda history as a flourishing port town, the shrine has been deeply venerated as a guardian of maritime safety and commercial prosperity.
