Jukoin is a sub-temple (tatchu) of Daitokuji in Murasakino, Kita Ward, Kyoto. It was founded in 1566 for the seventh memorial service of Miyoshi Nagayoshi, built by his son Miyoshi Yoshitsugu and the Zen master Shoryoshu. The name "Jukoin" derives from Nagayoshi's posthumous Buddhist name. The principal image is Shakyamuni Buddha. The interior, normally closed to the public, houses National Treasure fusuma paintings by Kano Shoei and Kano Eitoku. The temple is also known as the burial site of Sen no Rikyu, the master of the tea ceremony.
