Nikkozan Rinnoji Taiyuin

Taiyuin, a sub-temple of Rinnoji where I serve, is the mausoleum enshrining Tokugawa Iemitsu, the third shogun. Its splendor and magnificence can be said to be representative of Edo period architectural beauty. Famous carvings such as the Sleeping Cat and the Three Wise Monkeys are also here, never failing to captivate visitors. It is truly a work of art, combining the prestige of Iemitsu and the skills of the artisans of the time. People praying for family safety and academic success offer their prayers in this sacred place.
