Hikawa Jinja enshrined in the land of Kitami. Hikawa Jinja is a shrine dedicated to Susanoo no Mikoto and belongs to a lineage of venerable shrines found throughout Japan. Susanoo no Mikoto is known as a brave deity who defeated the Yamata no Orochi and is revered as a god of protection against misfortune. Additionally, because he was united with Kushinada-hime in Izumo, he is also cherished as a god of romantic bonds. The place name Kitami carries auspicious fortune, and visiting this shrine will surely bring many joys and good relationships. As the guardian deity of the community, it continues to be loved by the local parishioners.
