Shomyoji

Shomyoji is a temple of the Jodo Shinshu Honganji sect located in Yuki City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Grounded in Amida Buddha's Primal Vow, it has spread the teachings of nembutsu in the Yuki region. Yuki flourished historically as a castle town known for silk weaving, and this temple has long served as a place of prayer for local people. Through the recitation of Namu Amida Butsu, it conveys the Jodo Shinshu teaching that all beings are saved without distinction.
