Byakko

Honkakuji is a temple of the Nichiren school, founded by Hichichisujo, a disciple of Saint Nichiren. It is also known as 'Higashi Minobu' because it enshrines divided remains of Saint Nichiren from Kuonji Temple on Minobu Mountain. During New Year, the Hatsuzebisu Festival is held grandly, drawing many people wishing for prosperity in business. Located close to Kamakura Station, this temple continues to be beloved by local residents for its approachable atmosphere.
