Tairyuji is located on Ryuzan mountain in Kamo-cho, Anan City, and is the 21st sacred site of the Shikoku Eighty-Eight Temple Pilgrimage. Situated at an elevation of 600 meters, it is also known as the "Koya of the West" and is a prestigious spiritual place. Known as a sacred site where Kobo Daishi practiced at the age of 19, it enshrines Akasagarbha Bodhisattva as its principal deity. From the solemn grounds reached after climbing a steep mountain path, one can overlook the panoramic view of Anan cityscape. Truly befitting the name "Dragon," this is a powerful and auspicious sacred place.
